easyJet announces 45th flight destination from Manchester Airport
Low-cost airline easyJet has announced the launch of a new service from Manchester to Tivat in Montenegro, its 45th route available at the airport.
The service, which easyJet said is the only connection to Tivat available outside London, will start in March 2016 and operate on a twice weekly basis.
easyJet’s commercial manager, Ali Gayward, said: “We’re delighted to be adding a new county to our network exclusively available for passengers travelling from Manchester Airport.
“With its Mediterranean climate and a vibrant coastline littered with beaches, this is a truly up and coming destination which will provide more than a match for the long-established med resorts.”
She added: “We expect this new route will not take long to become a firm favourite as an easy and affordable summer destination for our customers.”
Around 15k passengers are expected to use the service through the summer.
Manchester Airport’s commercial director, Stephen Turner, said: “We’re delighted that easyJet has announced its new service to Tivat.
“It’s a destination that has never been served from Manchester and we’re sure it will prove popular with the 22m people in our catchment area.”
Montenegro will be the 32nd country added to easyJet’s flight network.
The British Ambassador to Montenegro, Ian Whitting, commented: “I am delighted that easyJet will start flying to Tivat next summer.
“This marks a new phase in the UK’s strengthening bilateral relationship with Montenegro, and I am sure it will be a huge success.”
