Good Oral Hygiene Habits at Tracey Bell

For the team at Tracey Bell, Castletown, encouraging parents to get their children into good oral hygiene habits as early as possible is an ongoing mission. Driven by their belief that prevention is better than cure, they work hard to ensure that the Castletown practice provides a friendly, welcoming environment for young patients and to promote a good brushing and flossing routine at home. Practice Manager, Wendy Mahon, said: “Encouraging children to start looking after their teeth from a young age is the best way to ensure that they have a healthy smile as they head into adulthood. Yes, we can treat decay and gum disease when it arises, but we’d much rather teach children to keep their teeth as strong and healthy as possible for as long as possible. That’s where regular check-ups and visits to the dentist, plus good brushing and flossing habits come in.” She added: “We work closely with flagship educational establishments, such as King William’s College & Buchan School, to spread the word about the importance of fostering good oral hygiene habits early. We’re also flexible in the way that we work – offering late evening and weekend appointments so as not to disrupt the children’s education. We’re also in discussions about sending members of the Tracey Bell team into King William’s school to engage with the children directly and offer oral health education.” The Tracey Bell Castletown team are leaders in their field, offering dentistry to patients of all ages, and are particularly keen to make children feel at home at their practice, encouraging positive associations with going to the dentists and looking after your teeth to promote good habits that will last a lifetime. The clinic’s address is: 12 Malew Street, Castletown, Isle of Man, IM9 1AB. Call: 805 230 for details or visit: www.traceybell.co.uk
