Truck company Thomas Hardie Commercials to drive growth with RBS support

Truck distributor Thomas Hardie Commercials has secured new funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to fuel its growth aspirations.

The firm will use the new cash to buy back shares that were acquired by other bodies as part of a rescue package agreed when the company ran into difficulties in 2008.

Following the new share transaction, Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd will become fully owned by finance director Steve Kenyon and managing director Mark Woosnam.

Commenting on the deal, Steve said: “It’s an exciting period for Thomas Hardie Commercials as we move forward with our business growth plans.

“We have an excellent relationship with The Royal Bank of Scotland and are extremely grateful for their support both in 2008 and since then.”

He added: “They have provided us with funding solutions that have allowed the business to succeed in recent years.”

Thomas Hardie Commercials, which is headquartered in Knowsley, employs a team of over 300 across five locations in the North West of England and North Wales.

RBS relationship director Tim Rigg commented: “We are delighted to support Thomas Hardie Commercials as it embarks on this new stage of its journey.

“It’s an exciting time for the company and I wish it every success for the future.”
