Arsenal FC strike deal with Indonesian bank

Arsenal FC have announced the agreement of a three-year regional sponsorship with PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk.

The deal will see the bank issue Arsenal-branded credit cards in Indonesia and run marketing initiatives and consumer promotions featuring first-team players.

Arsenal have strong commercial ties in the region, having agreed a partnership with Indonesian mobile operator Indosat last year following a similar deal with telecommunications provider Telkomsel in 2013.

Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer, Vinai Venkatesham, said about the agreement: “This is the second partnership we have concluded in Indonesia this season and underlines the level of support we have in the country.

“With more Indonesian fans following Arsenal on Facebook than in any other country, we have a significant opportunity to engage further with our supporters through this partnership with Bank Muamalat.”

Endy Abdurrahman, chief executive of Bank Muamalat, was similarly enthusiastic when he said: “Bank Muamalat strives to give the best experience to customers through collaboration with selected partners in order to achieve our vision.

“Arsenal, as one of the best football clubs in the world with brilliant performances in the Barclays Premier League, is the right partner for the bank to increase business growth primarily in the youth segment by becoming the first Islamic bank in Indonesia to co-brand with an international football club.”
