Skechers chooses Liverpool for flagship store
Footwear firm Skechers is set to establish a regional flagship store in the heart of Liverpool ONE.
Grosvenor Fund Management (GFM), which runs the retail and leisure complex, has revealed that the US-headquartered firm will launch a 3,578 sq ft branch on lower South John Street this spring.
GFM’s director of portfolio management, Miles Dunnett, said the signing highlighted “the awareness of Liverpool ONE’s success” among lifestyle and fashion brands.
He commented: “Skechers’ desire to create a flagship store on South John Street is driven by both the other recent additions to our lineup as well as our sustained growth in 2015.”
Skechers is one of a number of newcomers announced at Liverpool ONE in recent months, including Thai dining brand Busaba, bar chain Roxy Ball Room and several other restaurants. According to GFM, over 20 new brands signed up for space at Liverpool ONE last year.
Miles continued: “The news is also evidence of our proactive management of Liverpool ONE to deliver the most compelling offer in the region.
“To have also achieved our highest levels of footfall and strongest sales since we opened is fantastic and we are delighted that momentum is being maintained into 2016.”
Real estate services firms Cushman & Wakefield and Metis Real Estate Advisors represented Liverpool ONE during the transaction, while CBRE acted for Skechers.
