ONZO partners with EDMI in global smart meter deal
London data analytics software company ONZO has announced a new partnership with EDMI, the global smart metering provider.
The deal will help consumers to maximise energy efficiency by breaking down their energy usage and aid utility companies in better understanding their customer base.
ONZO’s analytics will be added to EDMI’s advanced Energy Cloud platform which allows energy service providers and utilities to collect and manage information across large smart metering deployments.
By combining their services, EDMI will use ONZO’s analytics data to allow customers to play games against themselves or friends to improve energy management, solar analytics, and energy breakdown by appliance. The data will also help utility companies understand the different demographics, trends and preferences of their customers for targeted products and services.
Spencer Rigler, Chief Executive Officer of ONZO, hailed the deal when he said: “Through our partnership with EDMI, ONZO’s analytics will enable utilities to truly understand their customer’s energy usage and develop stronger personal relationships.
“Personalised engagement through gamification and energy breakdown is the next step for the industry and will ultimately improve customer loyalty and reduce churn for utilities.”
Andrew Thomas, Executive Director, EDMI Australasia, believes the partnership will ‘add significant value to the data’ from their energy solutions and ‘allow utilities and energy service providers to deliver new solutions such as in-home sensors and energy management capability directly to their customers.’
He added: “ONZO has been able to tailor its solution around our specific requirements and offer flexibility in the solution we offer utilities.”
