North West housing firm Regenda has announced plans to create jobs and invest millions into Liverpool developments as it makes a return to the city.
The Regenda Group is moving its HQ back to Commutation Plaza after a 10-year absence, refurbishing the 12,500 sq ft office space in time to relocate its staff in April. The decision is expected to create around 50 job vacancies and save the firm £400k per year.
Now, Regenda has said it will invest £20m in new housing developments in the area over the next three years through its Redwing Living subsidiary.
The company’s chief executive, Michael Birkett, commented: “We are proud of our historic links with Liverpool and the time is right for us to move back to a city that is buzzing with excitement and opportunity.
“There is so much happening, lots of impressive development and regeneration that we want to be part of. Although we have always maintained a presence in the city, it is time to raise our profile, build on our reputation and deliver some high quality housing which is in keeping with Liverpool’s aspirations.”
A £55m-turnover firm, Regenda employs around 500 people at several sites across the North West, including St Helens, Macclesfield, Oldham and Fleetwood.
Speaking further, Michael said: “Over the next 12 months we will be recruiting, offering a wide range of high quality employment opportunities, for example in human resources, finance and information technology, for people who want to be a part of our exciting plans for Liverpool.
“The city is a fantastic local employment market, offering a flexible and dynamic workforce, talent from the universities and great transport links.”
He added: “We’re really looking forward to coming home.”
