Charity benefits from shopping centre Christmas spirit
A local shopping centre has recently handed over thousands of pounds to a worthy cause following its 2015 festivities.
Last month, the Alhambra Shopping Centre in Barnsley welcomed more than 1500 children to its popular Santa’s Grotto and 4D sleigh ride experience with all proceeds going direct to Barnsley Hospital’s Tiny Hearts Appeal.
The retail outlet raised over £4400 to help support the charities £1million fundraising drive for a new special care baby unit.
Alhambra’s marketing manager, Steph Higham said: “As a company we choose a local charity to support every year and given the great work the hospital does for the local community, we hope that our donations will help them continue to do so and help with the new baby unit. A special thank you goes out to all the volunteers representing the charity who worked in our grotto this year, we couldn’t do it without them.”
The Alhambra has been supporting the Tiny Hearts appeal for the past 2 years along with other charities and has in total raised in excess of £10,000.
