Sky Betting & Gaming announced as founder member of Sheffield Digital

Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) has been announced as a Founder Member of Sheffield Digital, the membership organisation established to develop an environment for setting up, working in and growing digital businesses in Sheffield and the surrounding region.

SB&G’s Technology Hub is based in the Electric Works, which is currently home to around 70 of its employees including a number of software engineers, app developers and testers.

The company have an additional 120 technology vacancies, many of which are based in Sheffield.

SB&G joins The University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, Tech North, and Lightwork Design as founder members.

Andy Burton, chief technology officer at Sky Betting & Gaming, said: “Since opening our office there last summer we’ve quickly established a fantastic team in Sheffield. With a strong digital sector and high quality universities it’s a great city to scale a technology business in.

“I think Sheffield Digital has a crucial role to play in making sure the whole country knows this, which is why we’re delighted to be a founder member. We’ve invested significantly in the city and want to be a leading part of its technology sector for years to come.”
