Flag Bearers in a Brave New World
So flag production has come a long way in the last 30 years and Northern Flags has seen it all.
The traditional craft of hand sewn appliqued flags that the company was built on hasn’t been lost but the will to push the boundaries and aim for the ‘perfect’ production process has been at the forefront of Northern flags recent years.
This effort hasn’t been in vain. With a meticulous eye to detail and a study thirty years in the making we feel that we have found the perfect system.
This patented process uses suction during the sublimation process that gives a previously unobtainable 100% show through. A brand new state of the art facility in Poland allows us to produce incredible wide format banners and Flags with industry leading turnaround times.
Not content with being the flag bearers of this new wave of fabric printing on the continent we pursued new technologies both in our UK print facility and the manufacturing facility we have in Thailand.
The U.K is the smallest of these but is certainly perfectly formed. Having confirmed that dye-sublimation was the process for flags the variations of banner printing saw us turn to UV in our Northern Hub in the form of the ‘Durst Omega 2 UV’. Paving the way for corex, wood and metal printing, the Durst not only increases options but the process of UV curing can give the end product a greater resilience in outdoor environments.
Our progressive work in fabric printing has brought us big clients with big ambitions. The skills we have picked up during our endeavour to perfect flag and banner production has led us into the new territories of tension fabrics and hard substrate printing. These present exciting new challenges and show our continual desire to remain at the forefront of the digital print industry.
