Cyber Lab facility to train businesses in how to repel cyber attacks

IT training company QA has launched a new educational facility that uses simulations to help organisations defend themselves against cyber attacks.

Dubbed the Cyber Lab, the 20-seat facility in London has been developed by the Slough-based education firm to give business teams and individuals hands-on experience of cyber attacks and how best to repel them.

Focusing on facets such as incident response, digital forensic investigations, creating offensive defences and crisis media management, the specially-designed facility also provides tailored and bespoke courses along with ‘Capture the flag’ style team events and hackathons.

With cyber security such a hot topic at the moment following a string of high-profile data breaches, businesses are under more pressure than ever to be able to deal with cyber security threats.

Richard Beck, head of cyber security at QA comments, “Every day, every department in every organisation is at risk of a cyber attack. This situation is exacerbated by an unprecedented shortage of teams with the right skills to help defend corporate data.

“We’ve invested over £150,000 in building this unique training facility which will allow our customers to learn in an environment like no other.”
