Blackburn’s Tyson Lighting creates new installation at flagship Selfridges store
Lancashire lighting firm Tyson Lighting has teamed up with London brand Tala to create a new installation for department store Selfridges.
Blackburn-based Tyson partnered with fellow lighting company Tala to design and install an oak tree-inspired lighting fixture at Selfridges’ flagship store on Oxford Street, London.
The ceiling installation comprises oak veneered plywood fittings measuring 7m by 2.5m and 4.5m by 2m, with 143 Tala Gaia lamps hanging below.
The team at Tyson opted to use plywood instead of the heavier MDF during the construction process and built the structures on site.
The company has provided its custom lighting services for a number of dining, hospitality and leisure businesses across the North West, including Manchester restaurants Tattu and Sakana, and the Clubhouse eatery at Liverpool ONE.
Creative agency Bronco and bar Dock 29, both located in Leeds, have also utilised Tyson’s lighting designs.
Tala is headquartered in central London.
