Victoria development with six rooftop gardens hits new milestone
After more than a year and a half since it began, construction work on the Verde SW1 office development in the heart of Victoria has topped out.
The scheme, being delivered by US-headquartered real estate firm Tishman Speyer, comprises six rooftop gardens, a triple-height reception and a nine-storey glazed atrium.
The site will also have spaces for 440 bicycles.
A number of companies have already signed up for space at Verde SW1, including supermarket chain Waitrose, cafe Pret A Manger and asset management firm Oaktree Capital.
First launched in September 2014, work on the development is due for completion later this year.
Tishman Speyer’s managing director and head of design and construction for the UK, Alexander Morris, said: “The topping out of Verde SW1 was an important milestone for the building and a wonderful opportunity to experience the amazing views from the seventh floor terrace, all of which is a testament to the hard work of the entire project team.
“We look forward to welcoming our tenants to Verde SW1.”
