Oak Furniture Land launches at Trafford’s White City Retail Park
Oak Furniture Land has opened a 17,000 sq ft store at White City Retail Park in Trafford.
The park’s operator, The Derwent Group, signed the homeware retailer up for Unit 10 at the site on a 10-year lease.
James Maule-Ffinch, senior asset manager with The Derwent Group, commented: “Oak Furniture Land is the latest of a number of major retailers that have already committed to securing their places at White City Retail Park.
“With the arrival of Costa and M&S Foodhall, the mix of tenants is diversifying and the retail park is expected to become a major retail destination for people across Manchester with excellent accessibility and some very popular brands.”
He added: “It’s a really exciting time for White City which has gone from strength to strength since its recent redevelopment.”
The Derwent Group is leading a £10m investment programme at White City that, once complete, will see the park creating hundreds of new jobs while adding 210,570 sq ft of retail space to Trafford’s growing shopping scene.
Oak Furniture Land’s regional manager, Richard Barnes, commented: “We’re delighted to open our first store in Manchester and create seven new local jobs.
“The Manchester store joins our existing Bolton and Oldham stores in the Greater Manchester area.”
Richard continued: “The White City Retail Park is a prime retail site and is a great location for us. We are hoping that the opening of our superstore on the White City Retail Park will help to strengthen the retail park as a destination for furniture shopping.”
