JD Sports announces plans for new Altrincham store
Sports fashion retailer JD Sports has revealed plans to launch a new store in Altrincham.
Set to open next month in the town’s Stamford Quarter shopping centre, the complex’s manager, David Wightman, said he believes the store will prove to be a popular addition to the town’s growing retail offer.
He commented: “We are incredibly pleased that JD are joining Stamford Quarter.
“This exciting new opening continues to build on the fantastic range of stores and fashion choice and we believe it will be a popular store for shoppers of Altrincham.”
David added: “JD have spent the last 35 years establishing themselves as market leaders and our shoppers will be able to browse and buy limited edition and exclusive designs from such well known brands as Adidas Originals and Nike.”
Launching in June as part of the ongoing improvement works at Stamford Quarter, the new JD Sports will occupy a unit near department stores House of Fraser and Debenhams.
Last month, Bury-headquartered JD Sports Fashion plc reported double-digit profit growth for the 12 months to January 2016.
The company has continued to expand across the North West in recent months, with a new 5,280 sq ft store due to open in Stretford and a JD Gyms fitness centre coming to Rochdale in May.
