Liverpool LEP launches Local Growth Hub to support region’s businesses
A new platform to help companies in the Liverpool area unlock growth through commercial advice and support has officially launched today (May 5).
Developed by the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), the Local Growth Hub has been set up to give businesses and entrepreneurs a single point of access for the support they need to flourish.
The LEP worked in consultation with businesses, councils, support organisations and the government to create the platform, which can be accessed at localgrowthhub.com by companies across the Liverpool City Region’s six local authority areas.
Firms using the service will be able to connect with more than 300 specialist advisors from various professional and commercial disciplines.
Further, the Local Growth Hub is backed by eight regional brokers, who will signpost and co-ordinate support on a local and national level. The regional brokers on board with the Growth Hub are: Liverpool Vision, Liverpool City Region LEP, Knowsley Chamber of Commerce, Halton Borough Council, Invest Sefton, The Women’s Organisation, Wirral Chamber of Commerce and St Helens Chamber.
LEP chair Robert Hough said: “The launch of the Local Growth Hub marks a hugely important milestone for business support across our City Region.
“We often hear from businesses that the business support landscape is a real challenge to negotiate; the Local Growth Hub will now provide a support network to deliver long-term economic growth across our region. It has been developed to serve one function – to help businesses grow.”
He continued: “Many businesses simply aren’t aware of the support available to them, and the innovative Local Growth Hub portal opens the door to opportunity for businesses.”
The CEO of Knowsley Chamber of Commerce, Lesley Martin-Wright, said the organisation is “delighted” at the launch of the Growth Hub.
Lesley added: “We can help both start-ups and established businesses, and provide support and advice that is free and impartial.
“Our priority is to help more businesses grow, invest, and prosper by ensuring that they receive the relevant information, tailored support and guidance at the right time.”
