Oldham-headquartered GGR Group launches UK’s biggest vacuum lifter
GGR Group, the Oldham-based manufacturer of lifting machines, is hoping to cement its market position with the launch of what it says is the largest glass vacuum lifter in the UK.
The company has this week (May 9) unveiled the Hydraulica 6000, a machine capable of lifting glass, plastic boards, sheet metals, ceramic plates and other non-porous materials weighing as much as 6,000kg.
GGR Group’s operations director, Chris Lord, said: “The launch of the Hydraulica 6000 shows we are staying ahead of the game and can offer our customers more vacuum lifting power than any other product currently available the UK.
“The only thing that comes close is the Hydraulica 4000, which is on our fleet anyway.”
He added: “Our company has always been about innovation, not imitation. Having the Hydraulica 6000 – the biggest on the market – cements our position as the market leader in our field.”
GGR Group was founded in 1995 by brother and sister duo Graeme and Gill Riley. Graeme is now the firm’s chief executive, while Gill holds the post of managing director.
The company employs more than 100 across Oldham, Glasgow and Long Crendon in Buckinghamshire.
GGR Group’s machines have installed glass on various buildings around the UK, including the Shard and the Houses of Parliament in London, the Lowry Centre in Manchester and the Scottish Parliament Building.
