Monaghans Project Nominated for Award
We are very pleased to announce that a Monaghans project has been nominated for a conservation award at the annual Yorkshire and Humber RICS awards, taking place at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate on the 13th May 2016.
The nominated project is Printhall 1B, part of the new £25 million, state of the art Leeds City College Printworks Campus.
The Leeds City College Printworks Campus was opened in September 2013 on Hunslett Road, the former site of the Alf Cooke Printworks. The campus provides learning facilities for a variety of specialist vocational subjects.
Monaghans acted as NEC3 supervisor supporting LCC’s (Leeds City College) project manager AECOM and project team.
Andrew Hall, Building surveyor at Monaghans said:
“This was a very rewarding project to be a part of. We were able to maintain the historical character of the original print hall whilst providing a modern educational facility. It had its unique challenges being a listed building in proximity to an occupied college, but thanks to a great team effort from everybody involved, we were able to complete the project within the required programme constraints.“
