Dogs can't "container" their excitement for Wolfybeds
A North East start-up, specialising in luxury beds and accessories for man’s best friend, has got off to a comfortable start thanks to the Sunderland depot of Mobile Mini, a leading hirer of portable accommodation and secure storage containers.
Animal-mad entrepreneur, Dave Wolfe, came up with the idea to launch Wolfybeds after struggling to find a suitable slumber for his beloved pet Labrador who suffered with arthritis. After a long and fruitless search, he took matters into his own hands and created the ultimate in deluxe pet bedding.
As demand of products increased, Dave had a predicament when it came to setting up his online store – where to store his growing range of beds? An expensive warehouse rental was out of the question and after some creative thinking, Dave realised Mobile Mini storage containers could meet his need for flexible storage, while keeping overheads low as his- business grew.
As his stock regularly fluctuates, Dave is able to change the amount of containers as demand requires. After starting off with only one unit, Dave has since expanded his stock and now occupies three 20ft storage containers and one 40ft container.
Dave commented: “In our ever changing economy, starting up your own business can be a risk. There are a lot of things to consider, including high rental prices, tax, fixed contracts, limited space and expensive bills.
“Mobile Mini in Sunderland has really helped me expand, providing a less expensive storage alternative, yet still professional and secure. Self-storage units provide small business owners with security, short notice periods, low overheads and instant changeability if you require more or less space. If a small business was to opt for a warehouse, they could end up paying for a large site that could be half full one day, overflowing the next.”
Shaun Johnson, Branch Manager at Mobile Mini’s depot located in Philadelphia Lane, Houghton Le Spring, commented: “At Mobile Mini we are seeing more and more local businesses taking advantage of the benefits a storage container can bring. Here at Sunderland we have many business owners using our onsite storage facilities, the attraction being down to our flexible contracts, tight security, and adaptable storage. We’re offering a perfect solution to those that need room to grow, but need to save on the cost of renting expensive warehouse space.”
