North East quiz event returns

A POPULAR North East football event will be returning to Wearside for its fifth year on Saturday 21st May.

Samso’s Footy Quiz, will be back at Central Bar, Gateshead for its 15th edition and will see teams of up to six tackle one of the longest running footy quiz in the region.

The event, which has previously sold out, will also give footy fans the chance to watch the FA Cup Final before the quiz kicks off at 8pm.

Jon Sams, who started the quiz in 2011, said: “I first started the quiz because there was just nothing like it in the region.

“I never imagined we’d end up on our 15th quiz in five years but the events have been so popular, there’s a real demand for them.

“It’s always great to see the room packed out with people who are enjoying themselves and we’re hoping this year will be just as successful.”

Tickets to the quiz cost £2 per person, with all proceeds be ploughed back into the event or used as prize money for the winning teams.
