Middlesbrough electrical firm doubles staff numbers following national contract wins

Midas Electrical, the new electrical design and installation division of Tees cladding firm Midas, has doubled its team following a string of national contract wins.

Within weeks of launch, Midas completed a £30k electrical installation for a 750sq metres Leeds gym for a major fitness chain and installed sub-mains distribution and cable management systems for a Billingham processing plant in a further £20k job.

Led by electrical director Iain Wilson, Middlesbrough-based Midas Electrical has been launched to work hand-in-hand with its parent company as long-established Midas work on an increasingly broad range of industrial and commercial projects.

The firm are also fitting new lighting systems within high street stores across the North-East and Scotland and installing LED lighting in the store of one of the UK’s biggest brands in Newcastle’s Eldon Square.

Qualified electrician Iain, who previously led a thriving electrical business in Stockton, said: “It has been a whirlwind so far. It’s certainly fair to say business has beyond even our own high expectations.

“Thanks to being under the Midas umbrella, we already have a significant portfolio of clients so it is a very exciting time for us. Much cladding and building work goes hand-in-hand with electrical requirements, so the launch of an electrical division makes perfect sense.

“We’re already carrying out work across Teesside, the wider North-East and far beyond. We’re expecting to grow quickly as it’s clear the possibilities are endless.”

Iain, who has more than 20 years’ electrical experience, said: “Through the established ‘This is Safety’ brand within Midas, we can provide customers with peace of mind and confidence that all high risk activities will be conducted to the same high safety standards associated with Midas.
