New Bolton HQ puts Asons Solicitors in “solid position” to grow
North West law firm Asons Solicitors is set to establish a new HQ at Newspaper House, the former home of The Bolton News.
Asons’ acquisition of the four-storey property, located at 40 Chruchgate in Bolton town centre, follows a recruitment drive that led to the appointment of a new marketing manager and several other key members of staff.
Now, the law firm is expecting the move to stimulate further job creation following a short period of consolidation.
Newspaper house, situated alongside Bolton Parish Church in the town’s burgeoning conservation area, comprises 25,130 sq ft of space. The site is currently being refurbished to include a new restaurant, rooftop garden, meeting pods and other staff facilities.
Imran Akram, the CEO of Asons, said of the firm’s growth plans: “It is very important to us to have made this long-term commitment to remain in Bolton and for us to remain a part of the town’s own exciting growth plans.
“Legislation changes meant that last year was a particularly turbulent time for the legal industry but we have come through that in the strongest position we’ve ever been.”
He added: “We’re in a very solid position financially with a fantastic team in place, a new corporate vision and renewed focus.”
The Asons team is due to relocate to Newspaper House in August 2016.
Commenting on the move, the company’s principal director, Kamran Akram, said: “It has always been our goal to be the best and this move gets us closer to that.
“Other options were explored to an advanced stage but this opportunity presents the perfect opportunity for Asons, our employees and the calibre of talent we want to attract.”
The leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Cliff Morris, hailed the move as “excellent” news for the town.
He continued: “We are delighted that Asons are moving into the heart of the town centre, especially at a time when we have ambitious plans in terms of leisure, business and education, many of which are now coming to fruition.”
