Clarke Willmott supports the Headway Somerset Boat Race
A group of lawyers from Clarke Willmott LLP in Taunton supported the annual Headway Somerset Dragon Boat Festival raising over £1000 for the local charity.
The event which took place on the River Tone, saw the law firm retain two prestigious trophies previously held since last year’s race including one for the best fancy dress for their efforts as ‘Noah’s Lark’ with team members dressed as pandas, tigers, frogs and foxes, rowing two by two.
Chris Thorne, Partner in the Taunton office of Clarke Willmott, said: “Our team of finely tuned, highly trained athletes took great pride in taking part in this event for Headway Somerset. We were delighted to retain two trophies - the fancy dress prize for a spectacular turnout as “Noah’s Lark”, and the wooden spoon for the slowest team.
“The disappointment of coming last was offset by a fine losers’ trophy which will remain on display in the Clarke Willmott Taunton office for another year.
“We act for many clients with brain injuries and their families and we regularly refer them to Headway which offers such great support and advice.
“Huge thanks go to all those members of the firm who took part, plus various family and friends who provided support and sponsorship.”
Headway Somerset supports victims of acquired brain injury and their families throughout Somerset.
