North East's 'only public cloud specialist' lands new contract wins

Northumberland-based cloud technology startup Cloud Circle has announced plans to hire four new staff members after two recent contract wins.

Launched in 2014 by young entrepreneur Tom Roberton, 25, and fellow director Michael Povey, the business provides advice specifically for SMEs on all aspects of IT, including cloud computing where systems are operated remotely.

The new contracts are for a Darlington Credit Union Bank and Cosatto, a babycare retail business and are hot on the heels of completion of IT work for the North East England Chamber of Commerce.

Tom said: “We believe we are the only public cloud specialist in the North East, which means we focus on helping our customers choose the correct cloud platform which tends to be Office 365 and Microsoft Azure, and use our technical expertise which have recently been recognised by Microsoft to help migrate and implement the solutions.

“Our goal is to provide businesses with an IT infrastructure that is always available, accessible from anywhere and that avoids high capital expenditure by no longer purchasing on premise hardware. Before cloud computing small businesses could never achieve this quality of IT infrastructure within their budget.”

He and fellow director Michael Povey, decided to join the North East England Chamber of Commerce for a range of reasons including the free HR and legal advice as well as networking opportunities.

Joanne McLauchin, relationship manager, the Chamber said: “Circle Cloud are a great company and we are delighted to have been able to support them in growing their business. They had a stand at our recent AGM and got interest from many of our other members who could see the advantages of having someone take control of their IT requirements rather than trying to struggle alone.”
