June delivers first-ever £1m month for Trafford Park-based Clothes2order
Personalised clothing company Clothes2order.com has achieved £1m in monthly sales for the first time as it prepares to report a record half-year.
The Trafford Park-based firm secured £1.1m in sales last month to bring its turnover for H1 2016 to £5.2m, a year-on-year increase of 21%.
The company also hit an increase of 50% in exports during the six-month period.
Clothes2order.com forms part of custom clothing company Quayside Group, which has forecast sales to hit £11m in 2016, up from £9.1m in 2015.
Michael Conway, MD of Clothes2order.com, said: “It’s been a great journey since our first £1m year in 2009, when there were only 20 of us in the business.
“It feels significant that we have now reached a level of £1m in monthly sales, with 120 people employed by the group.”
He added: “However, it is just a step on the ladder towards our vision of being the world’s favourite personalised clothing business.”
Michael has put the firm’s performance down to its “focus on innovation” and an ability to meet customers’ needs
He continued: “We were the first business in our industry to offer 24-hour turnaround for printed and embroidered clothing ordered online. Our easy-to- use website enables customers to personalise clothing online with no minimum order quantity.
“We continue to focus on making it as simple as possible for our customers to order, to deliver in rapid lead times and get orders right first time.”
In the wake of Britain’s decision to leave the European Union, Michael said Brexit could deliver new opportunities to expand sales beyond the continent.
Speaking further, he said: “We were strongly in favour of Britain remaining in the EU but we are now focusing on addressing the changing climate.
“We recognise that export growth into Europe may be limited, but the weak pound may enable us to increase our presence in other territories.”
Clothes2order.com supplies individuals, businesses, teams and communities with personalised clothing items such as hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts and polo shirts.
