RIDI Awards- one month until submissions close
Inclusive employers and recruiters now have just one month to share their stories on engaging with disabled talent by entering the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) Awards.
Now in their third year, the awards celebrate progress and recognise the success of organisations that are making headway in increasing the inclusion of disabled professionals.
Last year the awards attracted over 75 applications across categories including Innovation in Assessment, Employers’ Choice, and Disability Confident. Previous winners have included Lloyds Banking Group, E:ON, the BBC, Sainsbury’s and Eversheds in partnership with Guidant Group, as well as many smaller employers and recruiters.
Commenting on the nearing deadline, Kate Headley, Director of Consulting at the Clear Company and spokesperson for the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative said:
“I’d like to urge all employers and recruiters who are taking a step in the right direction to engage with disabled talent to step up and share their stories.”
“Success in this area relies on confidence, communication and collaboration. You may not have made earth-shattering adjustments, or feel that you still have further to go on your journey to becoming disability confident, but let me assure you that every step is having a significant impact on the prospects of disabled jobseekers - and employers and recruiters will benefit from your experiences.”
“The facts speak for themselves. According to recent government figures, there are now 365,000 more disabled people in work in the UK than there were in 2014 – the equivalent of more than 3.5k every single week. By sharing your stories, you will inspire other organisations to make small changes to make a big difference.”
Submissions close on the 19 September 2015 and the awards are free to enter and attend.
