Liverpool’s Salters Building set for £6.5m residential transformation
Work is now underway on a multi-million pound project to create dozens of student apartments in Liverpool city centre.
The £6.5m project to redevelop the Salters Building on Pembroke Place is being delivered by YPG Developments Ltd, the construction arm of Liverpool-headquartered developer Yu Property Group (YPG).
Designed by architects Smith & McHugh, the six-storey 40,000 sq ft residential scheme will comprise 94 self-contained studio flats, a student management office, ground-floor retail space, laundry facilities and cycle storage.
More than half of the available studios have already been snapped up off plan by investors.
YPG’s managing director, Jonathan Yu, said: “We’re happy to announce construction work has now started on site to transform the Salters Building in Liverpool in to Pembroke Studios, a high quality student accommodation in the heart of the city’s Knowledge Quarter.
“With significant ongoing investment in the area including LJMU’s Copperas Hill development, the studios are ideally situated for students looking for modern, high-spec accommodation in the city centre.”
He added: “With over half of the studios sold off plan already, we expect even more interest as the building takes shape and our plans come to fruition.”
The scheme is due for completion in July 2017.
