Manging Partner at Slater Heelis cycles over 100 miles for charity
Chris Bishop, managing partner at Slater Heelis LLP cycled over 100 miles in one day from Anglesey to Stockport for the charity Helping Schools in Uganda (HUGS).
HUGS helps to provide an education to children in Uganda and Rwanda by building schools and supplying education tools to poor and remote areas.
Chris and a friend Richard Bircher have already raised over £12,000 for this project, with the goal to raise £20,000. The money will help build the Little Shephard primary school in south Uganda which will provide an education for 150 children.
Chris has previously visited Uganda to see the difference HUGS makes and is set to visit again in October to see the various schools that HUGS have helped build over the years.
Chris Bishop said:
“The support and donations from family, friends and my colleagues at Slater Heelis has been overwhelming. HUGS is a charity that does incredible work bringing education to isolated, poverty stricken areas in Uganda and Rwanda. This year the total raised over the last 20 years should pass the £1,000,000 mark. I’m proud to support such an important cause.”
