Duo Security Celebrates Successful First Year in Europe
Government approved supplier status and 244% growth for cloud-based trusted access providers
Duo Security, a cloud-based trusted access provider protecting the world’s largest and fastest-growing companies, today announced strong European growth through Q1 2015 and Q1 2016. The company’s customer base grew 244% in EMEA region and 247% in UK since Q1 2015 through Q2 2016 in top industries including education, healthcare, technology and government.
“Over the past year we’ve been able to grow very quickly and have built up an impressive customer base,” said Henry Seddon, VP EMEA for Duo Security. “The European marketplace provides a significant opportunity for growth as organisations continue to realise the benefits of deploying a two-factor authentication system.”
In addition to its phenomenal growth, Duo Security has also achieved approved supplier status on the UK Cyber Growth Partnership list – a joint initiative between industry, academia and government aimed at boosting the UK’s global market position in cyber security products and services.
“The government is investing £1.9 billion in protecting the UK and becoming part of the approved suppliers list is a big advantage for us, especially in this era of BYOD, cloud and compliance,” commented Seddon. “The increasing threat of a data breach through phishing and other social engineering methods has resulted in organisations investing more in their cyber security.”
As part of its efforts to ensure European customers comply with the latest guidelines and regulations, Duo Security has partnered with Amazon to host and deliver its two-factor authentication services from Amazon data centres located in Germany and Ireland.
“The recent regulatory changes around data protection highlight the security benefits of storing and processing customer data locally,” continued Seddon. “The new public cloud datacentres mean we can better respond to the needs of our customers, particularly in the government, financial and insurance industries where data visibility is necessary for compliance reasons.”
