Indie wine and food hall merchant Whitmore & White to launch in West Kirby
Whitmore & White, the independent wine and food hall merchant, is expanding with a new store on the Wirral.
The shop, located at 3 Banks Road in West Kirby, will serve coffee, beer, deli-boards and sharing plates.
Additionally, the store will stock over 300 wines and 100 spirits, including dozens of gins.
The owner of Whitmore & White, Joe Whittick, said he is excited about the launch following the success of the brand’s original shop in Heswall and its second store in Frodsham, Cheshire, which opened in 2015.
He commented: “While on holiday in Spain three years ago, my partner Jamie and I fell in love with the informal feel of the local wine merchants and delicatessens.
“They seemed to offer high-end elegance hand-in-hand with simple delicious food in a really welcoming atmosphere.”
He added: “Our dream of opening a continental delicatessen and wine shop began there, and a little over six months later we opened our first shop in Heswall.”
Speaking further, Joe said the company’s aim from the outset was to “source fantastic wine, food and spirits from across Europe, the UK and locally”.
He continued: “We also wanted to support local artisan producers and were amazed to find how much superb food and drink is made right here on the Wirral.”
The new West Kirby shop will open this Saturday (September 10).
