Manchester City to reveal #CityPulse Wall at the Etihad
Manchester City have teamed up with software company SAP SE to improve fan engagement with a new interactive digital wall.
Located in City Square at the Etihad Stadium, the #CityPulse Wall features a touchscreen interface and video display designed to enhance the matchday experience for Blues fans, potentially changing the way supporters access and consume football data.
The #CityPulse Wall will give MCFC followers access to data-driven insights, real-time stats and profiles for every player across the club’s First Team, Women’s Team and Elite Development Squad.
Additionally, the interactive display will enable fans to utilise a live social media feed displaying fan conversation and sentiment.
Omar Berrada, Manchester City’s chief operating officer, said of the #CityPulse Wall: “Connecting with our global fan base in innovative and meaningful ways is a top priority for everyone at Manchester City and by collaborating with SAP, we are able to utilise their breakthrough technologies, both at the Etihad Stadium and online, to enhance every fan’s matchday experience.
“The #CityPulse Wall is an opportunity to provide a unique digital experience for fans and the new website widgets mean no matter where they may be, fans can access all the matchday data they are looking for.”
He added: “We are excited to share this Premier League first with our fans and to continue working with SAP to innovate across all areas of the club and group.”
SAP UK’s head of cloud, Kevin Kimber, commented: “We’re excited to unveil the CityPulse Wall for Manchester City fans, the latest in a series of technology innovations designed to reimagine and transform the ways that data can inform and enhance the fan experience.
“Working in partnership with City Football Group, we’re committed to leveraging breakthrough SAP technologies, such as HANA Cloud Platform, that will help their teams optimise operations, while providing new opportunities to enhance the fan experience wherever they are – in stadium, online or via mobile devices.”
Multinational software corporation SAP, which is headquartered in Germany, is MCFC’s official cloud software provider.
The #CityPulse Wall will be officially unveiled at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday (September 17).
