Krav Maga entrepreneur launches new Hendon dojo
North London Krav Maga instructor, Gideon Hajioff, has opened a new flagship venue of his Dynamic Self Defence Academy (DSD) in Hendon.
Located in a former jewellery workshop, the 2,000 sq ft premises is the martial art school’s first flagship venue after operating in within schools since it was founded in 2001.
Offering multi-discipline arts training, including Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, boxing, free-style Judo, condition and yoga, the premises is well-suited to martial arts training thanks to its sprung floor and high ceilings from its former life as a dance studio.
Commenting on the opening of the new Academy, Gideon Hajioff said: “We had been looking for a site to expand DSD but for a long time had not been provided with any appropriate options.”
The Hendon property, which also features a Proguard Armour store selling martial arts accessories, was secured by leisure property agents Shelley Sandzer, with Partner Casey Phillips heading up the deal.
Commenting on the role the firm played in securing the new site, Mr Hajioff added: “[Casey] delivered the perfect space in the perfect location and we are thrilled to have launched here in Hendon as we would not have been able to find this site without his assistance.”
Mr Philips said that the property firm was confident that the academy will go from ‘strength to strength’ and added: ““DSD has been trading on licences within schools for a number of years. Gideon founded DSD in 2001 and has nearly 40 years training experience.
“As a very well-respected Krav Maga instructor who already has a huge and dedicated following, we are honoured and proud to have helped him fulfil his ambition of securing his own Flagship venue.”
