Jobs at risk as historic engineering firm in Carlisle goes into administration
Mitchell Dryers Limited, the Carlisle-based engineering firm, entered into administration on Wednesday 21 September 2016.
Mitchell Dryers Limited is a privately owned company with a history dating back to 1859.
The company has specialised in the field of industrial drying for the last 80 years, manufacturing a wide range of equipment from its premises in Carlisle, Cumbria.
The joint administrators, Mike Kienlen, Daryl Warwick and Mark Ranson of Armstrong Watson were appointed by the directors.
Armstrong Watson is a firm of accountants, business strategists and financial advisers.
The firm has a network of 16 offices throughout the north of England and south west Scotland, with 33 partners and over 400 team members in a variety of areas such as: Accountancy, Audit, Business & Personal Tax, VAT, Corporate Finance, Business Strategy, Forensic Accounting & Expert Witness, Payroll, Insolvency, Restructuring, Financial Planning & Wealth Management.
Mike Kienlen commented: “We hope to retain the 32 staff whilst negotiations and discussions with any potential purchasers continue.”
