Cintra ‘Celebrate and Educate’ for National Payroll Week
September saw the annual celebration of all things payroll: National Payroll Week. In its honour, and showing that ‘It Pays to Learn’, Gateshead based Cintra HR & Payroll Services organised a competition to test the brainpower of its talented team and raise money for local charity St. Oswald’s Hospice in the process.
Staff, family and friends teamed up to enter Cintra’s National Payroll Week Quiz. In true Cintra fashion however, the quiz was a fun filled evening, designed not only to get the grey matter working but also to help one of Cintra’s favourite charities, St. Oswald’s Hospice. The evening raised a fantastic £700.
St. Oswald’s Hospice are a North east based charity who provide specialist care for adults, young people and children with life limiting conditions. St. Oswald’s is a self-financing, voluntary organisation and over £7 million must be raise each year to ensure that care is available to everyone who needs it. Cintra are proud to be a loyal and regular supporter of the hospice: helping to raise funds through a variety of activities including bake days, running a 5K powder paint gauntlet, raffles and charity collections. Cintra also buy and decorate the main Christmas tree at the hospice each year.
Cintra were proud winners of the Pay & Benefits CSR Scheme of the Year Award last year. In this age of social awareness, most organisations pay lip service, saying that they support charitable causes in some form. At Cintra however, we believe that the range of charites supported and our level of staff engagement shows that it really is a part of our company DNA and St Oswald’s is one of the many charities supported by the lovely people at Cintra.
Carsten Staehr, CEO of Cintra HR & Payroll Services said: “National Payroll Week is a great opportunity to highlight the vital work done by payroll teams around the country, but for us at Cintra it’s also a great opportunity to support something else very close to our heart - St. Oswald’s Hospice. When we first became involved, staff visited the hospice and were overwhelmed, not just by the standard of care provided but by the genuinely remarkable people behind that care. To me their ethos is very similar to ours here at Cintra – they are a caring bunch of people who like to have fun but always put their customers first. We look forward to supporting the great team at St. Oswald’s for many years to come.”
