IoTUK hunting for partners for Digital Catapult's new IoT network

Three Internet of Things (IoT) tech firms are being sought for a new initiative by Digital Catapult’s IoTUK programme to develop its new IoT network.

Announced last week, The Digital Catapult Things Connected will see 50 IoT hubs rolled out London-wide to support entrepreneurs and startups test and experiment with their IoT innovations.

Now the digital network is seeking three partners for its IoTUK Boost programme to assist with the delivery of the LPWAN network both within London and across the UK’s regions, in the hope that their involvement will help drive uptake and increase market awareness of the network.

As part of the programme, IoTUK will also provide £30,000 to each successful partner who will each play a central role in guiding and supporting the design and implementation of network.

Speaking following the launch of the Things Connected intiative, Digital Catapult’s Chief Executive Officer, Jeremy Silver, said: “Things Connected is starting in London but we want it to cover the UK. To capture more of the digital dividend in the UK economy, we need to accelerate the adoption of the internet of things.

“Things Connected empowers London’s terrific tech community to test their IoT innovations so they can begin to improve the quality of life for those living or working across the capital. This is the beginning of our work.

“We aim to roll Things Connected out to help remove the barriers to IoT technology for businesses, and create new revenue opportunities for entrepreneurs and for smaller and larger companies.”

The open call for interested parties runs until 14 October.
