Thriving new business making North Tyneside Bloomin’ Marvellous
Mike Brannigan has spent 40 years of his life working in horticulture – 38 of those in local government overseeing the management and maintenance of parks allotments and green spaces.
Mike took early retirement a couple of years ago, but he certainly didn’t hang up his gardening tools. Instead, Mike returned to his roots, getting down and dirty with nature, and building up his own gardening and landscaping business - MB Gardening Services.
Mike’s business is flourishing and he is now working his magic green fingers in many of the private gardens and also businesses across the length and breadth of North Tyneside.
Says Mike:“I seem to have developed a niche for Public Houses – which suits me fine!
I have clients ranging in size – from looking after the planters at Ewan Bramley Dental Care on North Shields Fish Quay, to the Low Lights Tavern on Brewhouse Bank in North Shields, to the extensive gardens at the Beehive Inn near Earsdon - which has just won the accolade of North Tyneside in Bloom in the Best Commercial Premises category.
Mike continues: “Both myself and the Beehive’s owners are delighted to receive this award on our first year of entry. “
Mike’s other particular expertise lies in the development of bespoke wild flower meadows in both commercial grounds and home gardens; the judging panel of the North Tyneside in Bloom competition were particularly impressed with his skills in this area.
Mike enjoys giving advice and offers a hands on garden design and maintenance service.
