Business Development Team Unveiled

Jeff Davies is the latest addition to the senior management team at rapidly growing JB Skills Training. A former apprentice himself, Jeff is positioned to take the company to its next huge growth level.

Joining fast on the heels of newly appointed operations director Berni O’Leary, Jeff is the new Head of Business Development and he brings with him seven years of experience in training companies.

The Sunderland based company JB Skills specialises in apprenticeships, learner loans, individual functional skills and bespoke company training. It caters for organisations of all sizes in the North East, across the UK and further afield in Europe.

JB Skills has grown at a rapid rate since opening in March 2014. Earlier this year the company broke the £1m turnover mark and an announcement on further growth is expected this month. The organisations managing director Dave Macmillan has big plans for further rapid expansion, which is where Jeff and his team comes in.

Managing a business development team of four, Jeff is supported by Graham Oliver, Ryszard Piecuch and Sarah Pearce.

From Wingate in Peterlee, Jeff’s previous career has involved working for giants such as Whitbread and Associated Creameries.

He himself started as an apprentice through Hartlepool College, and he is now delighted to be working in such an innovative organisation delivering training apprenticeship solutions. He said:

“JB has grown massively in its first two years and is set to boom again, by being ahead of changes to the industry and delivering quality. I am already getting my teeth into the challenging role and am finding the dynamic of the team really exciting – I feel part of the future of this forward thinking, learner and customer focused company!”

Jeff’s background of hands on mechanics positions, sales and training, positions him perfectly to get new contacts and develop new avenues for the company, which now employs 33 people and encompasses Skills2Care under it’s umbrella. Dave Macmillan said:

“We are a young and hungry company, with a strong team ready to take the next step in growth. Berni recently joined us as our operations director and we are now delighted to also welcome Jeff to the fold. These two appointments are important key investments in our expansion.

“Jeff’s experience will open new doors for us, and strengthen existing contacts. He has a strong team behind him and I am confident they will deliver for the company.”

Dad to two and Granddad to three, Jeff doesn’t have much spare time outside of work and family but when he does you’ll find him submerged in sports and playing golf.
