Europa’s Road to Innovation

Europa Road, a dedicated division of ambitious logistics operator, Europa Worldwide Group, has further strengthened its international operation with a series of innovative fleet investments over the past two years, worth over £3 million.

In a move to realise its ambition to become Europe’s leading logistics provider, the company has employed a range of state-of-the-art equipment to ensure its 475 scheduled weekly departures run even more effectively and securely, enhancing customer service and allowing for further business growth and expansion.

The most important technological change to Europa’s fleet over the past 12 months is the introduction of 65 variable deck box trailers. Fitted with a series of adjustable tracks, these trailers provide a changeable deck structure, creating a pallet load which is tailored to the needs of each individual client.

Europa’s additional investment of 22 double deck curtainsiders and 10 lst curtainsiders (long semi-trailers) also greatly improves the efficiency of its internal trunking system by effectively doubling volumetric capacity per trailer.

Along with these trailer developments, 2016 has also seen the implementation of cutting-edge tracking software, Masternaut Connect, in over 200 of its trailers. The innovative software has improved fleet visibility, creating a fully connected fleet workforce. Masternaut’s location data also automatically populates Europa’s dispatch systems with live vehicle locations, enhancing the company’s scheduling capabilities, enabling them to provide the best possible customer service.

With security for trailers transiting between Dartford and Calais at an all-time high, Europa is leading the way in effectively tackling the challenges that currently face the European groupage industry. The introduction of advanced SBS Security Locking Systems, including first-rate, unbreakable stainless steel padlocks with armoured cast steel protection covers, has greatly improved Europa’s fleet safety over the past 18 months.

Together with Europa’s striking new ‘goddess’ livery, introduced in 2015, these advances in fleet technology have seen Europa’s extensive taskforce become one of the most efficient and recognisable throughout Europe.

125 trailers from all of Europa Road’s network of 10 regional branches around the UK trunk directly into the company’s innovative £30 million 1hub facility in Dartford each week.

As well as its specialist European road freight solutions, Europa also provides dedicated air and sea, warehouse and showfreight services.
