Workspace given nod for refurbishment work at £9.4m Hackney offices

London-based office provider Workspace has been granted planning permission to redevelop one of its business centres in Hackney.

The work will entail the redevelopment of the £9.4m Mare Street Studios office building, which sits less than 200 metres from London Fields train station, expanding available office space expanded from 38,000 sq ft to 55,000 sq ft.

Workspace said that refurbishment work will also see the addition of a cafe, co-working space, communal areas, cycle storage and showers.

Jamie Hopkins, Chief Executive of Workspace, commented: “Hackney has become a very attractive area for our customers and we are delighted to have achieved planning consent to create a new business centre that will meet the demand in this exciting location.

“We continue to deliver on our pipeline of refurbishment projects to upgrade the quality of our portfolio and add superior value to shareholders over the long term.”
