The capital has another world-leading digitally connected building in East London
Another London building has been awarded the highest rating as part of an internationally recognised scheme to promote and encourage developers to prioritise digital connectivity.
Trilogy Property and La Salle Investment Management’s R1 at Republic office development in Docklands has been awarded a Platinum certification from WiredScore, recognising the technology infrastructure embedded within the refurbished property.
The East London building, which is still under refurbishment, is part of the Republic creative office campus and will house 225,000 sq ft of office space targeted at creative, cultural and tech businesses priced out traditional locations with rents a third of those currently seen in Shoreditch.
Its new certification means it joins an illustrious list of buildings, including the Empire State Building as well as 12 London-based buildings such as The Shard and the Leadenhall Building, to be accredited with WiredScore’s highest accolade.
Robert Wolstenholme, Managing Director of Trilogy Property, commented: “WiredScore’s Wired Ceritified Platinum rating has an independent and rigorous set of standards, and our certification singles out Building R1 - Republic as a trailblazer for East London, and its digital and creative future.”
The Wired Certified programme was launched by the former Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, in October 2015, to establish a trusted certificate which would promote future-proofed, digitally-connected buildings while simultaneously encouraging developers to put connectivity at their forefront of their building plans.
William Newton, EMEA Director at WiredScore, added: “The investment that has been made in R1 at Republic’s connectivity infrastructure demonstrates Trilogy Property’s commitment to providing its current and future occupiers with fast, reliable Internet, to future-proof these companies in enabling greater transformation, innovation and prosperity.”
