New digital platform Kondo to break property sector barriers
A new digital platform is looking to modernise the process of buying and selling residential properties.
Lancashire-headquartered Kondo works by connecting buyers and sellers directly, cutting out the need for middleman estate agents.
The website, built by Manchester-based web design agency e3creative, will step into a “completely new space” instead of offering a “repackaged take on high-street or online estate agents”, according to e3creative marketing director Jessica Bradley.
She explained: “There’s absolutely nothing available, like Kondo, that empowers people to fully take control of their home buying or selling process.
“The real estate industry is a very traditional business and there’s always an intermediary estate agent to go through.”
Jessica continued: “People want more flexibility and to be involved, as proven with emerging online property portals, such as Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket, becoming more popular than ever.
“Unfortunately with these sites, people can only view what’s available, since you must be realtor to upload, manage or inquire about a listings. Kondo is aiming to break that barrier in order to make this undertaking more efficient.”
Speaking further, Jessica said the time and cost savings offered by Kondo’s do-it-yourself concept were the main considerations when bringing the idea to fruition.
Kondo’s as-yet-unnamed founder plans to remain anonymous until the new business venture takes off and she can comfortably leave her formal position in real estate.
The platform is now live for residents of North West England.
