New jobs created as Hays Travel joins Airedale Shopping Centre lineup
Hays Travel, the UK’s largest independent travel agent, will soon launch a new store in Keighley’s Airedale Shopping Centre.
The store, which has created five new jobs, will be open for business on Thursday 1st December.
Steve Seymour, Airedale centre manager, commented: “We’ve been working with Hays to bring them to the centre for some time and I’m thrilled to announce that the new store will open soon.
“The store fit is nearly complete and we’re looking forward to them bringing their own unique take on travel to the people of Keighley.”
Paula Barrett, Hays Travel’s head of retail, said: “We’re delighted that we will be opening a store in Keighley’s Airedale Shopping Centre in December. We’ve opened 18 new stores around the country in the past 12 months, 8 of which have been in Yorkshire.
“This expansion is evidence that we remain positive about, and committed to, the future of the high street travel agent. We’re looking forward to flying the people of Keighley off to sunnier climes.”
Steve added: “We’re extremely pleased that Hays will be joining us here as we continue to grow and improve the Airedale shopping experience and tenant mix for our customers and Filbert our Mascot will be first in the queue to book his winter break after cutting the ribbon to open the store.
“Hays has grown from one store in Seaham in County Durham in the 1980s to become the UK’s leading independent travel agent with more than 130 stores across the country. They’re an exciting brand that increases our travel offering and I’d like to welcome them to the centre.”
The new Hays store will be located at 10 Cooke Lane, opposite Argos.
