Harrogate agent highlights finest homes for TV show

A STUNNING rural home is set to star in a popular TV show that is hunting out the best homes currently for sale in the North Yorkshire countryside.

Dacre Son & Hartley submitted a number of properties which are currently for sale with the firm to the producers of the BBC television show ‘Escape to the Country.’

The series, which helps prospective buyers find their dream home in the country, is hosted by Gilly Buckley, Alistair Appleton, Jules Hudson, Nicki Chapman and Jonnie Irwin and airs daily.

Senior Associate Director Nick Alcock, who is the branch manager at Dacre Son & Hartley’s flagship Harrogate branch, says: “We provided a number of options and were delighted when the producer chose to film at Mount Pleasant Cottage, which is set in a secluded position just outside the North Yorkshire village of Bishop Thornton.”

Vendor Graham Richardson says: “We were very excited to find out our home would be filmed for the popular television show Escape to the Country and spent the day with the researcher who will return with the prospective buyers later this month. The show is set to air next year. The filming is one of the many marketing and PR opportunities Dacre Son & Hartley has provided us with at no extra cost.”

Mount Pleasant Cottage is an attractive four double bedroom detached family home which is full of character and is set in almost two acres of land, with equestrian stables and grazing, extensive gardens, a patio with a hot tub, an ornamental lake and summer house.

Nick adds: “It’s a stunning home, with a host of features both inside and out. It’s on the market for offers in excess of £850,000 and enjoys a lovely rural, yet easily accessible location between Ripon and Harrogate so it was ideal for the programme.”
