Work completes on news homes in York

Work has completed on six new build luxury homes on New Lane in Holgate, York on land formerly occupied by Holgate Working Men’s Club. As part of the scheme, the developer, RHW Developments, has also built a new modern social club.

The working men’s club provides 270 square metres of modern space over two floors for the local community.

Designed by Brewster Bye Architects, the development known as Holgate Mews, has a stand-out contemporary design and includes six three storey townhouses that each have three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two reception rooms. The homes range in price from £445,000 to £465,000, and the first home has already sold.

Ian Tulloch from RHW Developments says: “Our contractors Woodhouse Barry Construction and architects Brewster Bye have done a fantastic job, and the homes and the club are outstanding in terms of design, style and substance. The location is an ideal place to live, within a popular residential suburb of York, and the members of the club are absolutely delighted with their new building.”

Mark Henderson, a Director at Brewster Bye Architects, says: “We carefully designed the development to ensure both the townhouses and the club both offer a strong design statement, which adds to the quality of the surrounding area. The homes are all set within an exclusive gated development on a quiet, leafy street that is close to York City Centre so they will no doubt appeal to buyers.”

Peter Atkinson from RHW Developments says: “This is a sustainable and attractive scheme that really stands out from your average new-build development. All of the homes have an open plan kitchen dining area, living room and also benefit from an integral garage and garden and they have been very well received by the market.

“Having worked in property in York and across the region for over 35 years, both Ian and I are very passionate about bringing something new to the streetscape and this development certainly has achieved that.”

RHW Developments recently completed another successful residential scheme in York transforming a former pub, The Pack of Cards, into 14 one and two bedroom flats for the City of York Council. Brewster Bye also designed this scheme, which is just a few miles from the City Centre.
