Queues for launch of Barratt's Scholar's Green site
A pre-Christmas sales launch event at Barratt Manchester’s eagerly anticipated Scholars Green development in Walkden, has attracted unprecedented queues of hopeful homebuyers, and a record number of off-plan reservations, reports the Five Star housebuilder.
Work to create the new homes on the former Walkden High School site on Birch Road, is now well underway, and will comprise of 94 two, three and four bedroom homes located less than half an hour from Manchester city centre.
There will be a selection of semi-detached and detached homes available, to accommodate a wide range of families and lifestyles.
Scholars Green is conveniently located close to Walkden and Worsley, and is easily accessible to the A580 which leads straight into Manchester city centre. Its close proximity to the M60, M61 and M602 motorways, makes it a highly popular choice for commuters.
There is also a great choice of local schools within walking distance of the development, including Walkden High School, which has relocated to a new state-of-the art premises on Clough Lane. Lovers of the great outdoors will appreciate Blackleach Country Park, a scenic nature reserve located less than a mile away.
Barratt Sales Director, Michaela Lancaster, said: “We were expecting a lot of interest on launch day, but even we didn’t anticipate a queue forming before we had opened the sales cabin. Progress on site has been excellent and we’re delighted to be able to launch an on-site sales facility before Christmas. Many buyers are looking to reserve a new home before the festive holiday begins, and this will give those interested a chance to see the plans in situ, and talk to our sales advisers in detail about the house types and purchasing options available.”
In addition to over £440,000 paid by Barratt Homes to Salford City Council towards extra primary school provision and affordable housing locally, the new development will also bring £640,000 to the council via the Government’s New Homes Bonus.
Homes at Scholars Green are priced from £134,995. Purchasing options include Help to Buy and Part Exchange. For more information about the development call the sales team on 0844 811 7799. Or visit http://www.barratthomes.co.uk/scholarsgreen
