Revamp of Leeds’ Grade-I listed Leeming Building nears completion
Located adjacent to the new Victoria Gate development, the Grade-I listed Leeming Building in Leeds city centre is nearing completion after undergoing a refurbishment to transform the space into 29,000 sq ft of design led workspace.
Constructed in 1904 and originally conceived as the traders’ offices for the Leeds City Markets, the building has been internally remodelled and renovated.
With the interior design drawing on Scandinavian influence, the refurbishment works include a new reception area, break-out spaces, LED lighting, air conditioning and brand new shower and WC facilities.
WSB Property Consultants and Sanderson Weatherall have been appointed by development managers TPS on behalf of Freshwater Group to let The Leeming Building.
Alex Jowett at WSB said: “We are excited to be offering this major part of Leeds history to the office market offering a collection of unique work spaces created to attract like-minded businesses.
“The building has been re-designed to deliver creative workspace for creative thinkers. We believe we offer one of the most unique opportunities within the city for creative businesses.”
Mark Newton, director at TPS, added: “We are delighted to see The Leeming Building nearing completion, a building we believe is one of the city’s most significant and important architectural assets.
“We are already in detailed discussions with a number of occupiers and working with letting agents WSB Property Consultants and Sanderson Weatherall we have 58% of the suites under offer prior to practical completion of the scheme which is testament to the quality of the workspace we are delivering.”
