Bolton distributor Homespares snaps up Peterborough-based spare parts company
North West distributor Homespares Centres Ltd has announced its acquisition of Peterborough-based spare parts company Exserve.
The deal, completed for an undisclosed sum, will bring Exserves distribution facility in Peterborough under the control of Bolton-headquartered Homespares, a supplier of spare parts for domestic appliances and home consumables.
Homespares believes the agreement will give existing customers access to a broader product range, making the combined business a “one stop shop” for domestic spare parts.
The managing director of Homespares, Kirk Whitehead, said: “We’re looking for ways to lower prices, widen our product range and offer the simplest, easiest shopping experience because that’s what our customers want.
“We believe the acquisition of Exserve accelerates our progress across these priorities”
Homespares currently employs around 50 staff at its Bolton HQ and supplies products to a number of national retailers, including supermarkets and brands specialising in DIY, electricals and home furnishings.
Earlier this year, the company revealed plans to boost its turnover by £2.5m and embark on a recruitment drive.
