Housebuilder pledges support for Bristol animal charity
Staff from Barratt Homes in Bristol have been swapping life on the building site to volunteer at a local animal sanctuary as part of the housebuilder’s charity fundraising plans.
Site and office staff have been quick to support Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary in Barrow Gurney becoming volunteers for the day and helping staff with dog walking, welcoming visitors and helping out in the kennels and cattery.
Russell Glimstead, managing director at Barratt Homes, said: “It’s been great to see so many members of staff volunteer to help out at the charity and we hope that our efforts can support the vital work the charity does in the Bristol area.”
Staff have arranged a number of volunteer days to give as many people as possible the chance to help out and make friends with the animals.
Holly Hedge is an independent charity which rescues cats and dogs across the Bristol area and each year it looks after around 800 animals.
Hannah Wozniak from Holly Hedge said that support from companies such as Barratt Homes makes a real difference to the charity.
“We are so grateful for the kind help of our volunteers. Here at Holly Hedge there is always so much to do and sometimes our small team can be really overstretched so it means so much when we have the support of a few helping hands to keep on top of things,” she said. “Thank you so much from all of the team - two legged and four!”
