Bardsley Construction appointed to £6.2m student accommodation scheme in Sheffield
A £6.2m student accommodation scheme in Sheffield is set to be delivered by the Yorkshire office of Bardsley Construction.
The £50m turnover family-owned firm is constructing the six-storey block at Hannah Court, Matilda Street, on behalf of Venture Property Group.
On completion in August 2017, Hannah Court will offer 103 ensuite studio apartments, offices, a management suite and residents’ communal hub.
Alongside Bardsley on the project team are WCEC Architects, Cutins Engineers, mechanical and electrical specialist Futureserv and cost and project manager Abacus.
Rick Smeaton, Bardsley’s regional manager in Yorkshire, said: “Hannah Court represents our latest major development in south Yorkshire and provides us with an ideal opportunity to enhance our well-earned reputation for the delivery of high quality residential sector, adding to our portfolio of construction projects in Yorkshire, the North of England and the Midlands.”
Other major schemes undertaken by the Yorkshire office of Bardsley include the design and construction of the West Yorkshire History Centre.
The £6.4m project comprises three storeys incorporating archive storage to the top two floors and multi-purpose space to ground floor including foyer reception with café, exhibition space, learning zones, enquiries office and secure search room, conservation studio.
The construction firm is also working on X1 Aire, which is a £13.9m resident scheme comprising of 147 apartments over 13 storeys of concrete frame, together with associated external works and drainage.
