Bolton constructor Seddon wins place on £390m Staffordshire Council framework
North West construction firm Seddon has won a place on Staffordshire County Council’s Construction Projects Framework, worth a combined total of £390m.
The Bolton-headquartered builder Builder and developer Seddon has a long-standing relationship with the council, having delivered several major construction projects for it over recent years..
The family-owned business is currently on-site at its Branston High School scheme, a £25m education development, and recently completed work on Innovation Centre 5 at Keele University Science and Innovation Park.
Staffordshire County Council and other local authorities in the Midlands, Cheshire and Greater Manchester regions will all use the framework, which will last four years.
Seddon successfully bid for lots 2, 4 and 5 of the five lot framework, which are traditional construction projects (intermediate value), modular construction projects and associated services (low value) and modular construction projects and associated services (intermediate / high value).
Eammon Burns, Midlands regional director at Seddon, said: “Securing our place on this major framework means that we can continue to deliver more work in the region, in sectors we are well experienced in; education and care.
“It also allows us to apply our modular knowledge, a method set to be prevalent in the industry in 2017 and beyond.”
County Councillor Ian Parry, Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Matters, added: “This appointment continues our already successful relationship with Seddon, and I look forward to seeing it grow and develop further over the next four years.”
